Sharon Community Outreach Center
The Sharon Community Outreach Corporation (SCOC) is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Stoneville, North Carolina. In partnership with the Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, the SCOC opened the Sharon Community Outreach Center to the Rockingham County community in September 2023.
The center offers local organizations a convening space with a commercial kitchen, gymnasium, and conference room equipped with audio-visual equipment for hybrid meetings. The SCOC is a hub center in partnership with the Duke Endowment to host health clinics to increase the accessibility and availability of healthcare in Western Rockingham County.
Vision: The SCOC seeks a future for Western Rockingham County where every resident, regardless of their background or where they live, has the chance to thrive.
Mission: The SCOC aspires to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive community by fostering equity, diversity, and empowerment.
Through collaborative programs, educational initiatives, and community engagement, the organization aims to bridge gaps, amplify underrepresented voices, and uplift every individual, ensuring that everyone has equal access to opportunities, resources, and support.

Community Empowerment
The SCOC is fueled by a commitment to empowering communities. The SCOC’s approach revolves around actively involving communities in the design and implementation of solutions, ensuring that the SCOC’s programs align with their unique needs, assets, and aspirations.
2. Collaborative Partnerships
The SCOC believes that collective action is paramount in addressing the community’s challenges. The SCOC actively seeks and fosters partnerships with community-based organizations and stakeholders. By collaborating closely with the community and our partners, we aim to create sustainable and impactful changes that positively impact
the community’s overall health and well-being.

3. Uplifting Community-Based Programs and Initiatives
The SCOC develops and implements tailored programs and initiatives aimed at addressing specific challenges in Rockingham County. This includes offering hosting Cone Health Mobile Clinics and social needs screenings through the Duke Endowment to increase the accessibility and availability of healthcare resources across Rockingham
County. The SCOC is also passionate about providing active living opportunities for youth in Western Rockingham County through recreational basketball leagues. SCOC’s commitment to the senior community members will offer increased activities at the center in Stoneville.
