Merald Holloway
SCOC Board Member
Merald Holloway a passionate and dedicated advocate for economic empowerment and social justice within several North Carolina communities and business sectors. Native to Rockingham County, born in Reidsville, NC, and residing in Wake County, he was a 1992 Reidsville High School graduate with formal education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He is the founder and Executive Director of NC 100, a non-profit focused on mapping and identifying opportunities for collaboration and change in Rockingham County. Merald also lends his time and expertise to serving his home county as treasurer/executive board member for the Rockingham County Partnership for Children Finance Committee for the Reidsville Area Foundation and the board of directors for the Good Stewards of Rockingham.
In the Triangle area, he also serves as a program manager with MDC within their Rural Prosperity and Investment portfolio, identifying opportunities for community collaboration and developing technical assistance methods. As a champion of economic development and advocate for workers and purchasing cooperatives, he currently serves as chairman of the North Carolina Employee Ownership Center.
The work that motivates him is faithfulness to a mission to amplify local voice, create spaces where decision-maker solutions are more inclusive of local experience, and build more robust networks for local leaders.
